All
children should have a full eye examination
before they go to primary school and regularly
thereafter. A child’s vision is fully
developed by the age of 8; therefore it is important
to correct any visual defects before that age
to avoid lazy eyes and squints developing. So
the earlier treatment is started, the better
the results. Many children under perform at
school due to uncorrected vision or problems
relating to their sight.
Children’s eye tests
are free under the NHS, and we are delighted
to examine your child’s eyes no matter
how young the child is. Children up to the age
of 16 or under in full time education are entitled
to a voucher which can be used towards the cost
of their spectacles
We carry a large selection
of children’s frames of different shapes
styles, and colours of a very high standard
in flexible metal, titanium, stainless steel
or plastic with flexible hinges for added strength.
The frames range from a budget to designer labels
Contact lenses for children
can often be an option for recreational use
and sports. Our experienced optometrists will
be happy to discuss the options with you.
